From May 10 to 12, the 12th Mongolian Power Expo & Festival and the Drifting Championship was held in Ulaanbaatar. The Chinese Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports sent three excellent drivers at invitation for the first time. Ambassador Shen Minjuan attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

Ambassador Shen noted that in the 75th anniversary of the China-Mongolia ties, the first participation of the Chinese drifting team at invitation to Mongolia bears special significance as this means that motor sports and automobile culture is turning into part of the exchanges in sports and culture between the two countries. As a developing country, China is a late comer in motor sports, but we are not falling behind in competitions with so many extraordinary racers, advanced equipment, and event organizing capacity. These achievements are a miniature of China’s efforts to build a strong nation in sports and the rapid growth of motor sports in developing countries. I hope the Chinese racers will be a bright scenery with their speed, enthusiasm, and performance and leave the Mongolian friends who champion speed and power a good and deep impression, writing an extraordinary chapter in this important year for the bilateral relations.

The Mongolian host said that the Power Expo & Festival and the Drifting Championship is the largest motor sports event in Mongolia. Team China here is a highlight for the competition. We look forward to more frequent exchanges of young people and closer cooperation in racing events for stronger people-to-people friendship.

The opening ceremony featured spectacular atmosphere with fleets of drifting vehicles, motorcycles, and off-roaders.

After the opening ceremony, Ambassador Shen Minjuan visited the paddock of the Chinese team to talk with the drivers and tried the racing vehicles.

Team China won the first place in group and individual competitions, showcasing their racing prowess, teamwork, and supporting capabilities.
