On March 25 and 26, Director of the administrative agency of Mongolia’s New Kharkhorin City N. Natsagdorj and his delegation visited Xiong’an New Area. The delegation visited the demonstration center for the pilot free trade zone, phase I project of the integrated waste treatment facilities, Yuerong Park, and urban construction in the Rongdong region. They were briefed on the latest developments of the plans and construction of Xiong’an and held seminars with relevant departments and officials of the New Area. 

Member of the CPC Working Committee and Director of the Party and Administration Office of the Xiong’an New Area Wang Jiping received the visit of N. Natsagdorj’s delegation. He said that Xiong’an New Area is a strategy of historic importance developed by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core for the long-term development of China. Over the past seven years, the area has been built with international standards that fit Chinese realities for high-quality results. During the process, planning, underground infrastructure, and urban greening went before construction, ground-level development, and city expansion and we aim to find a balance between working space and daily lives and integrate industries with urban areas. There have been significant results as the modernized city grows upwards like bamboos. The New Kharkhorin City and Xiong’an New Area share many “urban genes”. The two cities shoulder the historic responsibility to relieve the metropolis press with the capital and work to develop new models for densely populated economic centers. Xiong’an New Area is ready to strengthen exchanges, mutual learning and, cooperation with the New Kharkhorin City to inject new momentum in building a community with a shared future between China and Mongolia. 

N. Natsagdorj said that Mongolian President Khurelsukh announced the reconstruction of the ancient capital Kharkhorin in the Orkhon Valley in December 2022 and plans to build it as the center of administration, history, culture, international relations, technology, and medical services for Mongolia. As builders of the New Kharkhorin City, we are encouraged and inspired to see the remarkable outcomes of the Xiong’an New Area in such a short period. The results of Xiong’an demonstrate the outstanding national strength of China as a major country. It’s beneficial to the Chinese people and inspirational for Mongolia as it provides innovative outcomes and valuable experience for Mongolia to build its new city. We look forward to friendly cooperation with Xiong’an in urban planning, infrastructure, and environmental protection and governance for common development. 

Representatives of the Party and Administration Office, Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, Construction and Transportation Administration Bureau, Xiong'an Group City Development Co, and Xiong'an Group Green Development Co were present at the events.
