On June 18, the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) intelligent customs clearance and container supervision facility at Ganqimaodu Port in Inner Mongolia passed the inspection by Hohhot Customs. This is China's first dedicated customs supervision operation site for cross-border AGV transport, marking China's first cross-border AGV unmanned transport corridor.
The corridor spans from the digital container port at Gashuunsuhait Port in Mongolia in the north to the intelligent customs clearance and container supervision facility at Ganqimaodu Port in China in the south. The entire line is 6.19 kilometers long, featuring a fully enclosed, bidirectional four-lane road equipped with intelligent checkpoints and video surveillance facilities.
Ganqimaodu road port, the largest road port for cargo transport between China and Mongolia, pioneered the cross-border AGV unmanned transport mode on July 16, 2022. By the end of May this year, a total of over 73,000 inbound AGVs had been recorded, transporting more than 4.8 million tons of imported goods. From January to May this year, Ganqimaodu port saw a total of 22,400 inbound AGVs, transporting 1.4735 million tons of imported goods, which account for 9% of the port's total cargo volume during the same period.
