Erenhot border port is China's largest land port open to Mongolia and a key node in the country's Belt and Road Initiative. It serves as an important gateway for opening to the north. Erenhot road port is the first 24-hour road freight port in China open to Mongolia. Since the beginning of this year, the port management department and joint inspection and transportation units have been working collaboratively to promote the high-level opening and high-quality development of the port. They have introduced a series of facilitation measures to improve customs clearance efficiency, unlock the potential of the railway and road ports, and drive the overall increase in cargo volume at the port.
On June 28, the Mandula border port's cargo volume surpassed four million tons, marking a 70% year-on-year increase. This growth rate remains the highest among similar ports in Inner Mongolia, achieving the four million ton target 126 days earlier than last year and realizing an import and export value of 3.865 billion yuan.
In recent years, the Mandula border port has developed rapidly, setting new records for cargo volume. In 2023, Mandula port achieved a cargo volume of 5.284 million tons, representing an 80.2% year-on-year increase. In 2024, the goal is to ensure the completion of eight million tons, with a target of reaching 10 million tons.
