Announcement of Chinese Government Scholarship Admissions for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

According to the work plan, the Chinese government will provide 220 scholarships to the Mongolian government for the 2026/2027 academic year. Of these, 138 are already studying in China, and 82 new students are planned to be admitted, including 46 undergraduates and 36 master's, doctoral, general, and advanced students. The relevant arrangements are hereby announced as follows:

I.Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must

- be a citizen of Mongolia, and be in good health both mentally and physically.

- be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;

- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;

- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;

- be a high school graduate (at least) under the age of 45 when applying for general scholar programs;

- be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs.

-from the 2026/2027 academic year, take the “China Scholastic Competency Assessment” (short as CSCA) and upload a valid score report when applying for bachelor programs. For detailed information about CSCA and registration methods, please visit www.csca.cn.

- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 4 when applying for Chinese-taught master’s or doctoral programs;

- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinese-taught senior scholar programs;

- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 3 when applying for Chinese-taught general scholar programs (studying Chinese language are exempted);

-Applicants coming to China to study Chinese for general scholar programs do not need to reach the above Chinese proficiency level; applicants who have obtained a degree from a Chinese university using Chinese as the language of instruction do not need to provide relevant documents.

-thoroughly examine the Chinese universities they intend to apply to, carefully select their target universities, and diligently fill out the application information.

-contact the admissions offices of their chosen universities in advance and obtain an admission notice or invitation letter to be admitted before submitting their scholarship application.

-meet the admission requirements of the applied universities in terms of academic ability, language proficiency and other relevant criterial.

-Applicants who are not admitted to their preferred universities will not be considered for admission adjustments.

-Chinese government scholarship recipients are not allowed to simultaneously receive other scholarships established by the Chinese government at all levels and the admitting institution (excluding one-time awards). If discovered, their Chinese government scholarship eligibility will be revoked, and they must return all scholarships already received. Those who deliberately conceal their funding situation will, in addition to disqualification, be barred from applying for Chinese government scholarships for three years.

II. Registration and Application Documents

Applications will be accepted from November 10, 2025 to February 1, 2026. Applicants must submit all application materials by registering on www.campuschina.org. The relevant application requirements have been published on the website. See Appendix 1 for detailed instructions.

Application Documents are as follows:

a)Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English);

b) Passport Home Page: Applicants are required to submit a clear scanned copy of the information page of their ordinary passports. If the validity period of the currently held passport is less than 12 months (calculated from the expected start date of study), please renew the passport and use it to complete the scholarship application. An applicant who fails to apply for a passport due to objective reasons may submit valid documentation or documentary evidence that carries information about the full English name, gender, nationality and date of birth of the applicant upon the approval of the application receiving agency;

c) Notarized highest diploma: Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

d) Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

e) Language qualification certificates. Applicants for master's, doctoral, general scholar, and senior scholar programs taught in Chinese must submit a valid HSK score report that meets the corresponding Chinese language proficiency requirements. Applicants for programs taught in other languages are required to provide relevant language proficiency certificates, such as IELTS or TOEFL score reports, in accordance with the requirements of each university.

f) CSCA Score Report. Applicants seeking to pursue a bachelor's degree must register for and take the CSCA before the application deadline, and obtain a valid Score Report. Please contact the target institution to inquire about and obtain the required test subjects for the applied major. Applicants intending to enroll in September 2026 are required to register for and take the CSCA on December 21, 2025, or January 25, 2026.

g) Pre-Admission Documents. All applicants must provide a pre-admission document issued by the universities applying. Pre-admission documents include pre-admission notice issued by the international students’ admission department or invitation letter from the schools or professors, etc.

h) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. (A minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students, and 800 words for postgraduates).

i) Recommendation letters: Applicants for graduate programs or senior scholar programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.

j) Example of Art. To apply for art or design related majors, applicants could submit their own works through “Example of Art/Other Supporting Documents” in the system. Applicants could also provide such materials to the applied universities directly in other ways.

k) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.

l) Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

m) Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

Reminder:

1. For application materials in languages other than Chinese and English, applicants must provide English translations.

2.Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.

III. Written Examination and Interview

After reviewing the application materials, the Embassy of China will notify applicants of the examination arrangements via email. Please ensure that you provide valid contact information when submitting your application to receive timely examination notifications. Applicants whose submitted materials do not meet the requirements will not be offered an examination opportunity.
